A new brand and eCommerce website for a public speaking and media training firm

Throughline Hero

Brad Phillips (“Mr. Media Training” and owner of Phillips Media Relations) was seeking a strategic design partner to help launch a new venture. The project scope included naming, designing a visual identity, creating all print collateral, and building an e-commerce website to market the new company, showcase editorial content, and sell tickets to open-enrollment presentation and media training classes.

Meeting Brad and discovering Throughline

At the outset, it occurred to us that the best way to understand Brad’s approach would be to experience one of his classes. Luckily, Brad was game to conduct a fantastic session with our team, which allowed us to hit the ground running with a full understanding of his offerings and style. Our creative process resulted in a name and identity based on the concept of throughline: Every speech must have a throughline that binds it together, but it also represents the company’s focus on end-to-end service.

A modern eCommerce and content experience, designed to drive leads and sales

With the identity established, we moved on to the website. Because we would be redirecting both existing sites (which had phenomenal SEO), we approached the site design with a landing page centric focus: each page needed to tell the Throughline story, and also drive users to download e-books and sign up for classes. The website project included full integration with HubSpot (to track leads’ data and manage customers) and WooCommerce (for customers to purchase class tickets).
