SDA Lighting

A website for a lighting company in Long Island City, New York City

Unresponsive websites among architectural lighting vendors are not uncommon. SDA wanted a website that was easy to navigate but optimized for large imagery. We designed a full-width, responsive grid to allow for large images and digestible, modular content. Studio Simpatico worked with SDA Lighting to create a fully responsive new marketing website for the Long Island City based lighting company.

SDA Lighting came to us looking for a visually appealing, modern website to showcase their company identity, line card, and latest news. Their old site design felt dated, was not responsive, and forced their gorgeous photos into tiny thumbnail sizes. Moreover, the site as a whole was so difficult to update that the marketing team had created a completely separate WordPress blog for SDA’s news—which had a different look and feel than the main website, resulting in a disjointed user experience. Following a deep dive kickoff meeting with stakeholders at SDA, we created wireframes to provide structure and guidelines for both the design and development of the site. The site design features a full-width, responsive grid optimized for large, beautiful imagery. We built a custom WordPress theme for SDA that included a filterable “line card” showcasing SDA’s brands, a robust blog with category and tag support, and integrations with Google Maps and MailChimp.
